Islamic Book Fair & Siratunnabi Exhibition 2015

The fourth annual Islamic Book Fair was held on the 24th to the 26th of October 2015. Looking to build on the success of the earlier fairs, the Islamic Book Fair was held in the Main Hall of the London Muslim Centre in Whitechapel, London. The fair had numerous book stalls offering a large variety of Islamic books and literature to the general public. This year, the fair was accompanied by a unique Sirat Exhibition. The widely viewed exhibition mapped out the 63 year life and highlights of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through a series of beautifully arranged posters.

The Islamic Book Fair and Sirat Exhibition was formally inaugurated by the Chairman of Al Quran Academy London, Hafiz Munir Uddin Ahmed. In his inaugural speech, he highlighted the importance of such an initiative in bringing people closer to Islamic literature and allowing people to discover the wealth of Islamic literature available to them. He also mentioned the objective of the Sirat Exhibition to be an easily accessible way to discover and learn about the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him)  and all his positive attributes in a concise and easily understandable way.

The inauguration ceremony was further enlightened by speeches from various luminaries and scholars, who also spoke of the benefits this unique Islamic event was having on the local Muslim community and Muslim youth.

The three day fair and exhibition was visited by thousands of people over the course of three days. Visitors were able to see Bengali Islamic books and rare literature from all over the world,  exclusively imported for the fair. Children were able to find a wide range of Islamic children’s books and browse new and popular titles.Visitors were also treated to the screening of an exclusive documentary highlighting the Holy Prophet’s life, which was made exclusively for the fair and exhibition. Alhamdulillah, the feedback from visitors has been extremely positive and there are extensive calls for the exhibition to be held in other cities across the UK and North America.
